Skedaddle European Self Guided Options 2010

For those of you who prefer to go it alone, or if our scheduled dates just don’t fit, then we’ve a huge range of self guided holidays in the UK and throughout Europe to choose from.

So let us have your dates, and once we’ve checked that our preferred accommodations are free, you’ll soon be Skedaddlin’!

All trips include detailed route notes / maps and with baggage transfers and emergency back-up provided as standard. Lots are suitable for families, with bike hire provided in each location or bring your own along if this is easier for you, and if you've a special request then do let us know.

France

		Choose from one of seven very different Skedaddle gentle French cycling holidays, all offering a fantastic cycling experience, brimming with all things synonymous with France; fine wines, delicious food, ancient sites, all of which can be explored by bike during your cycling day. With many of these suitable for families and available during school holidays, you can bring the kids along too. Fly, drive, take a ferry or train to the start point and you'll soon be Skedaddlin' in style.

Tuscany

Relaxed Cycling - With time spent in Lucca and Vinci, this holiday is simply a delight and is suitable for those after an easy paced trip. Lush cuisine, well appointed accommodation and superb sights along the way combine with routes on quiet country lanes past sleepy villages.

Classic Road Cycling - Looking to get a few more miles under your belt? This option based in Lucca allows you the flexibility to set your own pace; whether you want to take it easy and soak up the sights (and the wine!) or push yourself to the limits.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland

		Germany, Switzerland, Austria - Five Classic Skedaddles The Danube cycle route from Passau in Germany to Vienna in Austria is a cycling classic and with this in mind, we've both a 10 day and 8 day holiday suitable for families and mellow peddlars. In Germany we've a Bavarian Lakes trip which like the Danube is a very leisurely trip and takes in Garmisch and numerous Bavarian Villages along the way. Our Ten Lakes Tour in Austria takes in the foothills of the Alps and the Salzburg countryside and be prepared for your partner singing the classics from The Sound Of Music (ear plugs provided!) Fancy taking in Switzerland, Germany and Austria? Then plump for our Lake Constance cycling holiday which is a perfect family friendly option.

Croatia and Slovenia

		Croatia - Hop on a flight to either Pula or Trieste and we'll soon have you biking around the unspoilt sights of Istria. Your pound is going to go further as you'll be spending Kuna not Euros Choose from either the easy paced mountain biking of Idyllic Istria (guided option too) or plump for cycling along the Backroads of Istria if you are looking for a more gentle holiday or the fully guided Heart of Istria. Slovenia - Or opt for the neighbouring country of Slovenia and our beautiful Alps to Adriatic cycling holiday that explores Lake Bled, Kranjska Gora, Bovec and Piran

Sardinia

		With lots of self guided options available throughout the island, we think we've got it pretty much covered. The ever popular Coast to Coast may be done as an off road or road only option; Island Flavours explores the southern coastline and may be done as an easier option on our Gentle Flavours, Costa Verde is there for the mountain bikers and the Explorer is spot on for the road riders out there. With our Skedaddle Italia base close to the beautiful Chia beach, we can easily adapt things for you if what we are offering just isn't quite right and we also offer a range of fully guided trips here.

Spain and Portugal

		Spain - Choose to cycle either our Sierras to the Sea (also available as a guided option), that starts amongst the rugged splendour of Ronda and ends on the beaches of Tarifa or our White Villages, that links the Pueblos Blancos of the region. We've also the Coast of Light / Costa de La Luz holiday mountain bike self guided or guided trip, which is a gentle level. Portugal - Running April till October (excluding the searing heat of August) we've a week of superb cycling through the historic villages of Portugal including such delights as Monsanto and Almeida. Superb accommodation completes a lush holiday picture. Lots of Fully Guided Mountain Bike Holidays also available

Corsica

		After several years of fully guided classic road holidays trips on The Beautiful Isle, we've developed a leisure cycling programme that is easily adapted to suit all levels. The trip is perfect for those who fancy getting a few miles under their belt and who are of a reasonable fitness level. Guided road cycling option available too. Next date 23 May

Italian Lakes

With our guides from Skedaddle Italia escaping the heat of Sardinia from Mid June until Sept. there's no need to worry as they'll be by the Italian Lakes ready to meet your every request during your cycling holidays (a great family option!!) and mountain biking holidays here.

There really is no better place in Italy than Garda during the summertime and to keep Skedaddle Italia busy we've also lots of guided mountain bike holidays here in July and August too.
